UK SURGERY PAYMENT POLICY

Most patients find that they have long considered surgery and are committed to the time they have scheduled with our surgeons and staff. Over the years, we have found that adherence to certain policies is the only way to be fair to all patients who are trying to find a convenient date for their procedure.

A deposit of 25% of the surgical fee is due upon scheduling a date of surgery. This deposit is fully refundable except for a booking fee of £500.00, if notice of cancellation is received 20 or more business days prior to the date of surgery. The balance is due four weeks prior to surgery. Cancellation with notice of less than 20 business days will result in a charge of £1500.00 in addition to the booking fee.  Cancellation with notice of less than 10 business days will result in a refund of 50% of the surgical fee. All refunds are issued by company check. If a surgery is cancelled within 3 business days, there may be no refund of the surgical and anaesthesia fees since the time has been booked and cannot be otherwise utilized.

If because of illness, the surgery is not performed on the day scheduled, the procedure will be rescheduled for the next date our office has available. This is considered postponement, not cancellation. Should following recovery of the illness, the patient decide not to reschedule the procedure, this would then be considered a cancellation and the 50% administrative fee may apply. Should the procedure be cancelled due to your escort arrangements not being made, lack of blood work, ECG, not following pre-surgical instructions, or any other item that should have been addressed prior to surgery as explained in your pre‑operative instructions, the 50% cancellation administrative fee may apply. Should your date of surgery be postponed due to lack of compliance, a rescheduling fee of £1,500.00 may apply in addition to the surgical fee.

Any dispute or controversy arising out of, or related to, any surgical payment with respect to the above policy which cannot be amicably settled, shall be determined by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association in accordance with its International Arbitration Rules in London, before one arbitrator, and each party shall equally pay all administrative fees of said Association and the fees of the arbitrator.
If you have any concerns about any aspect of your procedure, please call our office. Your comfort and safety are our top priority.
