Hair loss can be a cause of concern to many men and women. In Men, it primarily occurs between the late teen years and age 40-50, in a condition termed male pattern baldness or androgenetic alopecia. This is an inherited condition and the gene can be inherited from either the mother’s or father’s side of the family.

In women the incidence of hair loss, or female alopecia, is known to increase with age. Some thirty percent of women aged 50 and over have suffered hair loss to the extent that they can no longer camouflage it with creative styling.
